Shaping the future of work at sea: the STEER Project
STEER (Seafarer Technology Engagement, Empowerment and Resilience) is an international research and engagement initiative led by The Nautical Institute in collaboration with Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
It looks at the real-world impact of new systems and working practices on seafarers at sea and ashore, and how technology affects safety, welfare and decision-making. STEER gathers day-to-day experiences from crews, managers, shipowners, manufacturers, regulators and trainers.
Whether you are at sea or ashore, your experience matters. Sign up for STEER news, workshops and webinars, volunteer, or email steer@nautinst.org to take an active part.
